To conclude

Unfortunately, most of postings above are focused on medical test but still, a number of animal are been dying by the name of various ways such as military experimentation.

The argument of animal testing is not ordinary political dispute. People are standing on important problem. Arrogance of human is destroying animal welfare. Human is not only specie who has been living in the world but also animals have been lived on the planet.

Many people who do not support experiment on animal are campaigning through various media. One of them, Carl (2007) claims critically five reasons why people should stop animal testing.

  2. Hi there
It was very an interesting topic you have chosen, it is right that human shouldn't use animals as laboratory, I believe mice body organs are same as human's body, that is the reason most experiments performed on mice, but this is not a good excuse to do these, as you said they can use technology for their experiments. it maybe cost them expensive but still they shouldn't be use living a life like this.

  3. The fact that these voiceless creatures are subjected to such cruelty is beyond me, where are peoples sense of empathy when they are being tested on?
The animals as you say live here too, and have just as much right to be here and live out their lives as they should.
With so many species on the verge of distinction you would have to wonder where they will turn to next.
Great topic and the layout is really good, paragaphs broken down into easy to read sections with really good links. lots of information, it's easy to identify where you stand on the subject. Nice job Yoon!

P.S can you also drop by my blog and post your thoughts tomorrow. Thanks ^__^

  4. It's a great topic, after read your posts I start asking myself whether "Experiment on Animal" is really the right thing? Well, it's true that the cruelty of animal is undeniable; but without those experiment, would we trust the medicine we takes anymore? Even though you had pointed out that technology would be the solution, still, how much can we trust the computers?

It's a very difficult issue because I think, if we can kill thousands of cow, chicken, pig or sheep everyday for our meat consumption, then some hundred of other types of animal for experiments doesn't even sound near as bad. I don't know if it's right to say that. I guess every of us are cruel anyway, even vergetarians. Look, you don't eat meat doesn't mean you don't kill living things, trees and vegetable was living until you took them out of the earth and eat them right?

  7. This is a great topic, since I do hold my own biases for this. I do agree that this, the whole process of experimentation is cruel, but then the common question comes into play, would you rather scientists experiment some unknown procedures on a human or an animal. This has to be one of the biggest debates, since it even comes up in my topic of human cloning. An animal has already been cloned, but when the human factor came up, a lot of people were nervous.

As for my own opinion, I would have to say that as cruel as it is, scientists should be allowed to experiment on animals, since a lot of research has helped to create many progresses in medicine. But that's just me. Thanks for commenting on my blog.

  8. hey farish,
in response to your comment, doctors are already using humans as guinea pigs for medical drugs which may or may not help their condition. But in saying that, this process comes after much experimentation on animals.

  9. You have done some very good writing here Yoon, well done! I like the points you have made about needing an alternative to move away from animal testing, this is very true. There are not many things in this world that will change unless we have an attractive 'plan b', but then I guess we are still testing on animals because no 'plan b' has been attractive enough. As Hang said, how much can we really trust technology when it come to human health.

I do agree that testing on animals is very cruel! It does make me sad to think about it as I love animals, but then as a lot of people have stated, the amount of progress we have made with medicine thanks to animal testing is undeniable. ALthough it is easy for us to stand up and say it is not right to test things on animals, think about it this way. What if your family member was ill and you have two medicines in front of you, one that will save your family member and one that will kill him/her instantly. Would you take the risk of just trying one of those medicines, or, if the opportunity was there, would you test the medicines on a rat first?

  10. Hi Yoon,

Your topic is really good. its disappointing to think that for scientist/doctors to get to where they are and find out what they need to by using animals or humans as their guinea pigs. But in the end the outcome of finding a cure for the ill is sacrificing an animal.

Even though i am not a big animal lover i still don't believe in harming them but what daniel has pointed out about the family issue it does make you think twice... I guess you don't really know til your in that position.

  11. Hi Yoon, I think it is interesting topic to think. I understand your opinion that is to think about animal rights. It is fact that human harms animals for their selfish reasons. Howevr I am also not big animal lover so I just think there are a number of people waiting for new medicines and if animal experiment is usefull to invent these then I have no reason to stop it.

  12. Wow this was such a good topic to choose, Yoon.
I do not believe in animal experimentation. It's wrong and unjust.
Animal's should not be subjected to this to help out humans. It's not like they have the same DNZ, dogs die from chocolate, all we do is get fat.
It's extremely selfish of humans to hurt animals for their own purposes. I'd sooner be a test subject than a monkey or dog.

  13. Personally I believe that animal testing is inevitable. It is cruel, but without it,how are scientists to know what is acceptable for human use?
For example my mum is a laboratory pharmacist. With her experiments they test drugs on dogs. This of course is very cruel..but the medicine that comes out as a result of these tests is medicine for cancer patients. Is this not a worthy cause?
Instead of focusing on banning animal testing we should focus on providing more favourable conditions for the unfortunate creatures caught in these circumstances.

  14. Hi Yoon, I'm fascinated by your choice of topic and think it was a great read. you have identified your topic well and have illustrated your main points clearly. Other than that you have addressed the topic well and provided sufficient images to support your views. Very well expressed.
I agree with Madina, animal testing may be immoral, but at the end of the day it is a necessary evil.

  15. "animal testing may be immoral, but at the end of the day it is a necessary evil." I like the statement. I agree with most above, animal experiment is cruel, but maybe the similar genes and the finance profit , the scientist have to do the cruel job on them,if they don't ,human beings might not progress so fast, but if there is alternative choice, they shouldn't be.

  16. Hello Yoon i was suprised by your topic and I also agreed that animal are not right to use in any laboratory.. and also I think government must to do something about this problem! anyway you clearly expressed your opinion.
